What is a CyberShamanic Dance Wave?
Do you like to move, dance, shake your booty? Whether or not you consider yourself a dancer, CyberShamanic Dance Waves encourage you to express your divinity through your body temple. We welcome any and all forms of movement expression. The dance emanates from deep within each dancer and from the unique group synergy all guided by the music. The CyberShamanic music directs the flows of energy in waves; moving from stillness to graceful movements and towards ecstatic trance-like dance states. Any and all forms of movement expression is encouraged at these events. Participation can be for the pure joy of dance or it can take on deeper, more shamanic transformational aspects -- come as you are and be surprised. Waves can be experienced in small groups at healing or yoga centers, expanding to dance halls and nightclubs to music festivals. JoAnn Chambers has been holding this vision for these emerging dance waves since the early 90s when an adventure into the Amazon rainforest awakened her pastlife memories of the primal and sacred art of movement and dance. It was also during this time that she touched into the pioneering work of Gabrielle Roth and her musical group, Mirrors. Their music transformed her dance into a deeper transcendent state and further awakened her tribal memories. A dancer all her life in various forms of expression, she brings these dance events forth now as a form of evolved entertainment for those choosing alternative venues to express themselves in a supportive and open dance format. This form of dance helps one to discover their inner power and innate wisdom which can often be locked away in the lack of movement. The body becomes more fluid and flexible, allowing greater freedom of expression in all areas of their life. Her professional trainings and areas of study include: massage/bodyworker, postural integration, psychophysical therapist, Feldenkris, Bioenergetics, Gestalt Therapy, Psychosynthesis, Emile Conrad/Continuum, Gabrielle Roth/5 Rhythms and Jonathan Wolken/Pilobolus. Together with her husband Gary, they formed a creative multimedia music group called Shapeshifter. Their music spans many different genres, often difficult to categorize by mainstream music catalogers. Instead of trying to fit in the box, they created their own genre - CyberShamanic Music. Gary creates all original soundscapes for each of their Dance Waves, which make these events very unique and creative in the dance wave communities. Gary's ability to tap into multidimensional realms of sound enables him to bring through music that truly supports an amazing Dance Wave event. Really there is nothing to learn, but to close your eyes, listen deeply, let the music enter all levels of your being and then start to move from that place. However, with that said, it is always fun to learn new ways of doing this or discovering techniques that might help you to develop your personal skills in this type of free form dance. JoAnn created a workshop called Quantum Moves which you can participate in to learn more and explore many different aspects of movement and dance. For those of you interested in hosting your own events, you can also become certified as a teacher of this workshop to share in your area. It is not necessary to become a teacher of Quantum Moves in order to host an event. Anyone can become a host if you love to dance with others and have the means and ability to set up events -- not to mention a killer sound system. Teacher certifications will also be available online as well as in the Tampa Bay Florida area.
